Frederik van Buynder is not only the founder of Wattsup but also an exceptional top athlete with an impressive sports background. As a professional alpine skier, he has competed at the highest level in World Cup downhill races, a discipline where speed, precision, and daring come together. His experience in the international sports world has shaped Frederik into a true expert in outdoor activities, with a focus on technique, safety, and pure enjoyment.

 

In addition to his skiing successes, Frederik has a deep passion for mountain biking. As a certified mountain bike instructor and high-level competitor, he brings the same dedication and expertise to every fatbike tour. His attention to detail and extensive knowledge of the sport make him the ideal guide for any challenge in the mountains.

During the winter months, Frederik combines his work at Wattsup with teaching ski and snowboard lessons in Val d'Isère. Here, he stands out not only because of his professional sports background but also due to his language skills. Frederik is one of the few instructors in the Tignes-Val d'Isère ski area who speaks fluent Dutch, a great advantage for Dutch-speaking guests who immediately feel at home. Frederik is fluent in Dutch, French, English, German, and Spanish. Whether you're a beginner or advanced, Frederik can always guide you in your language and share his expertise.
